"Premiere from my 1st documentation"

On the 23rd June, my documentation "(ER)LEBENS(VER)LUST" aired in the public area of munich hosted by "Die Städtischen". Round about 40 people were part of this beautiful and meaningful evening, where a few people of the team also took part in a followed Q&A. The evening ended with a little aftershowparty.

What was the documentation about?

In a time, where corona had the world in ties, "Die Städtischen" were planning big things. In October 2020, it all started with an idea from the young artist Anna. Her friend told her about "Die Städtischen", a munich-based collective of young interdisciplinary artists. She inspired the collective with her idea and together they expanded it. The result, a three-part series of events with lyrical art, dancetheater and live acts.  Within a very short time, more than 60 people decided to revive the summer of 2021 with art.

How do we process loss and feelings of loneliness in a society, which seem to repress or ignore those feelings primarly instead of expressing them, especially infront of others?

"(ER)LEBENS(VER)LUST" gave artists a platform addressing those feelings in their very own way and welcomed interested people to take part in experiencing the individual stories told throughout the evenings, each with an individual note of emotional focus, but in which "loss" was always present - all for free and all in the public area of Munich. And the special thing about it was, that it worked despite of strict contact restrictions and already impeded access to art and cultural offerings due to the consequences of the protection measures.

I joined the eventseries with my camera and also met up with Anna to look back on the time and to talk about "Die Städtischen" and the experiences during the planning last summer. A challenging and yet so rewarding project for the collective and moreover for all who were a part of it.

Shoutout to all the people, to the artists and organizers who made last summer so unforgettable! And thank you all for this very special event, where the documentation was aired. It meant so much to me.
